Namaste

Namaste was founded in 1997 by Sam Brummitt, inspired by his transformative journey through Nepal and India in 1995. After trekking to Mount Everest base camp and exploring the Indian Subcontinent, a conversation with a Rajasthani textile artisan sparked the vision for a business that would support these communities. The brand's name, meaning "I greet the spirit within you," reflects its foundation of respect and connection.

The company specializes in fair trade products that celebrate traditional artisan skills from around the world. With a strong commitment to sustainability, Namaste prioritizes eco-friendly and recycled materials, honoring both the craftspeople and the environment.

Today, they are recognized members of BAFTS (British Association for Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers), which ensures that every step of their supply chain is audited for fairness. They also support Child Rescue Nepal, an organization dedicated to ending child trafficking and supporting vulnerable children in the Himalayan region.
