Who We Are
At RAUHA Crafts, our mission is to empower vulnerable or less privileged groups, men and women equally, through crafts. We're dedicated to promoting fairness for everyone and building bridges that connect local craft makers in developing countries to a broader international market.
To achieve this, we source our products directly from the producers and partner with brands that share our values. We prioritize collaborations with social enterprises, small to medium artisan groups, and individual artisans worldwide, all while following fair trade practices.
Each of our products is ethically handmade by local artisans, often using traditional techniques and locally sourced natural materials. We strive to provide you not only with unique, high-quality, and eco-friendly products but also with the inspiring stories behind each piece. Our goal is to make these products accessible to all, spreading the beauty of handmade goods and the empowerment they bring.
RAUHA Crafts’ vision goes beyond transactions; it is about enriching and empowering lives, celebrating creativity, craftsmanship, cultural diversity, and humanity. Join us in making a meaningful impact in the lives of people around the globe!
Our Values
We offer more than just products; we curate experiences and share stories. We believe true well-being goes beyond material possessions. By choosing handcrafted, ethical products made with nature's touch, you're investing in the well-being of artisans, supporting sustainable practices, and enjoying the beauty of quality materials and craftsmanship.
How It Began
RAUHA Crafts started back in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a difficult time for many, especially for those living in low- and middle-income countries. The pandemic brought a devastating impact on people’s lives, driving many into poverty or extreme poverty - a struggle that continues to this day.
Growing up in Indonesia, I know firsthand the impact of economic disruption, and therefore felt the need to do something about it, to contribute in promoting and creating sustainable, long-term solutions that are needed to alleviate poverty.
Craft is the second largest source of income for developing countries, after agriculture. It is accessible to everyone and can be done from anywhere, making it a great way to create jobs in rural areas, as it often relies on traditional skills and local resources, and it requires little or no initial investment.
With a heart for crafts and love for cultural diversity, I decided to start this journey. I hope that these handmade pieces will bring you joy and help you feel connected to the artisans who crafted them in different parts of the world.
